Outdoor Table Makeover
Before I left for Japan my grandparents gifted me their older outdoor patio set. It came with 2 metal chairs and a wooden side table that they had down at the beach. With the salt water in the air the table and chairs were in pretty rough shape so I took them as a project item. Then I left for Japan for a year and they sat outside in the desert summer heat and the much needed torrential down pour that hit Southern California last year. Needless to say the chairs at this point were shot but I decided the table was worth saving.
I took apart the poor little table and sanded it down, it looked so much better after the sanding. Looking at this little guy he needed some color in his life as did my backyard covered patio where he will be living out his days. I asked facebook and instagram what they thought would be the best color for him. I got mixed reviews, most said to leave it the color that came out after sanding and some said red and a few suggested navy blue. I liked all of these options and ended up choosing red for my little table to make his life more colorful.
It was a fun weekend project that didn't take up my entire weekend. This just goes to show you that you don't have to throw away your old furniture that you think is un-savable. Just sand it down and give it new life!
I can't wait to see what will be the next project! I hope this gives you the confidence needed to redo some of your old run down furniture!
