Hawaii & 26 Weeks
Our first week in Hawaii has been very busy and eventful. In the 5 days we have been here we have spent about 15 hours in the hospital, gone to target twice, been to the beach and have eaten some delicious food!
During the 15 hours at the hospital we have had numerous doctors appointments. The first day we did 2 one hour ultrasounds. While at the first one our doctor told us "you will not take your baby home". We still have faith that Morgan will come home with us and we will not give up on him. We understand the doctor is just being upfront with us. At the second ultrasound they did an echocardiogram on Morgan. They discovered that his heart is normal and healthy! See, we got a little fighter growing inside of me.
The next day we had a bit of free time to ourselves and we were able to go to the beach for a while which was amazing. We had lunch at Hale Koa, shopped and hung out in the sand and water. So relaxing.
Day 4 we spent another 5 hours at the hospital. Our first appointment went well I have to go weekly to ensure that I don't get what is called the mirror disease. What that is, is where my body will start to mirror Morgan's body. I will start to retain fluid in my abdomen and become bloated and swollen just like Morgan. Our next appointment we were able to see a child psychologist where she made the recommendation that we be moved to Southern California to be with family during this time. We are now waiting for all the paperwork to be processed properly to make this happen. Until then we are in Hawaii indefinitely.
Day 5 we don't have any appointments scheduled but have to head to the hospital to drop off some paperwork. We will then be able to explore the island the rest of the day. We will also be looking for a new hotel to stay at. We are currently located right next to the freeway and this mama can't get much sleep at night. So we are hotel hunting!
Please keep Baby Morgan in your prayers as he is no where near out of the woods. The doctors aren't too hopeful in his prognosis but I know that through the power of prayers and with the Lord being here will us Morgan will continue to fight.
